Everything is Almost Broken
Deprogram the Light

everything is almost broken is a statement that stands for how our television and computers are delicate machines and how with just a little jostling they break how everything is so delicate it’s almost broken now

i intentionally wrote short poems as opposed to the long lyrical poems of Blinking With Fist of Billy Corgan because I wanted to explore the idea of a poem a poem just a poem like the perfect poem strikes me as a 4 line set of 24 words organized with a straight beat that’s a perfect poem i’m not as traditional as the Japanese haiku here in my developments of poem but for the most part I have stuck to short displays of exploration of the written word each poem is a brief exploration of the English language and in so doing I have written poems and that’s all I wanted to do was write a poem over and over again so that I could practice writing poems and see what a poem is to a 45 year old man

0

Because i never knew
I was dealing with voices
Telling me this was like a mine craft grame
With no real purpose in the real world
And i was a character
And this was what i did to pay my rent
Was play this game
And no one cared
Except my girlfriend
That i had two kids with
She didn’t like me dating in the game

1

If we go away we’ll start off with a play
We’ll have our say and make
A little world to take a day
We’ll ignite a little fire
And a spark a little joint
And keep it coming back
Like that’s exactly the point

2

i started a little 45 year old man Charles Bukowski just getting started rookie year writing poetry for the majors dawdled in the minors for a long time finally got called up but i was writing some poetry and it started off like this

3

My type
Is the right type
I type
With my fingers
She’s the type
To linger
This my rookie year
But I ain a beginner

4

A slice of heaven
Is a slice of pie
I’m experienced enough
To not question why

5

I was awash in thoughts of turmeric
She had a mild case of garlic
We were seasoning chicken for the dinner meal
We were a good blend of spices
I was a strong man she needed
She was a cutie pie that kept the conversation going
It wasn’t a miracle that we met
I had okcupid

6

I was listening to music
Sort of wondering who’s this?
Melody on point
I was lit on this joint
Just sit back and reminisce
We don’t know where we’re going

7

I needed an apple
So I could use adobe
I think my map’s full
I need you to show me

8

Because I had a lot to do
I didn’t feel like you
I had poetry blues
Not like so many
But Like so few

9

step up to the microphone
spit so hard the bitches moan
make your presence known
it’s your time you’re so grown
live life on money not on loans
it’s your time the seeds were sewn
you’re right on time and you glow

10

epic electric sanskrit sentences
repentance is near so clear we fear
the fire flies in november
come September summer has a season
you’re barking up the wrong trees for no reason
come back and react to the fact
that you’re on track for treason
this bleeding you are decreeing
means little to poets championing
the finest words in life
we sound fresh and perchance you know my stee lo
It’s the one around the sun we go

11

trip to the wondrous cosmos dialectic
become at one with the Sanskrit sentence
Jesus was a carpenter Yeezy laid beats
this is a hell of concert get the fuck up out your seats
open toed sandals for the summer excursion
we’re ready for vacation we’ve done nothing but work son
because you found me here I am center of the universe son of mam
ratchet up the difficulty and make this a real sham
you’re at the center of the universe experiencing consciousness
take a second to thank yourself you conquered this

12

bing bat who’s that
look at me oh shit oh crap
fling fat good catch
because of me it’s truly natch

13

it’s hard to write poems
put down something you can show em
be so cool they’ll say that they know him
these are the seeds I be sewing

14

queen captures pawn
and we go to a restaurant
waiting on the take

15

i started again
and finished quite quickly
data trends lead to chick peas
we eating now
no clue what to do
It’s just me
I ain got a man in my crew
no clue what to do
just a computer and a dude
its all so difficult
for 45 year old me
I’m saying I can’t study programming
at MIT

16

sanskrit sentences
hieroglyphic epicness
phased out like moses
jesus good with the people
jesus been good
jesus been the source
of fruit juice and crackers
and wine and wafers if you’re catholic
sacred seances
we get in tune with our dudes
let out a scream
it’s the triple high beams coming clean
seen this before you could call me Judas

17

sounds of sepiny we are an epiphany
mercy me could we be infinity
i saw my dad die
so I know there’s an end
but he was so peaceful laying there
like there’s never been a fear of death
we’ve been here before
so here we are again

18

because I run amuck
I don’t give a fuck
you an chase me
into eternity
and you’ll just find me
being me

19

because I was a patient
i had to be patient
and trust in my sentience
for a very long moment

20

i am a patient
i should be that
quickness confuses
knowledge is thick
baby I don’t play around
i just work with the stix
while being patient
there’s a shit tone I can do
i got a computer
from the many to the few

21

if you can see me i’m here
there’s a bagel in the microwave for you
the cream cheese is on the counter
you’re welcome in my apartment
i was waiting for you sometimes you’re hard to find
I just had to get your attention
And this is what I did to do that

22

jesus if you feel break me off some bread
for my body is tired of the wine
so lets smoke this weed jesus
jesus lets smoke some weed
and free up our resources for a good toke
testament by God getting high is the best route
we’re just sitting here chilling smoking might bring the most clout

23

i was a missing person three times
that’s how fucked up my life has been
lithium took the drama away
but it killed all the drama
now i’m just telepathic
and tied up in the internet
i don’t think its mental illness
i think its weed and misusing psych meds
coffee and tobacco just mind altering substances

24

poetry in the third degree
you can call me poet g nicky deep
sleep on me if you want a nightmare
i am brown hair

25

Destined to be destitute
How will I spend the night
Will my smart phone battery run low
Everyone did so well but me
That’s what I don’t understand
I worked more than everyone else
But everything worked out better for everyone

26

it’s up to you to remember me
it’s not up to me
you can’t remember you
you can only make yourself memorable

27

bindletubor nimpleshaw
tumituppee serindaw
burpleturfle manderscaw
dippletibble ampleshaw

28

bee toop eeoop endee mmeennee
blee steep dreeop oten ostenpop

cumala stumperiferinee depintofular

29

i was entered into the fog
like a manuscript I hadn’t finished writing
Genuflected outside of church in a random location
I brought holiness with me and started my church with one knee
Even though I had enough god
I still needed more for others

30

it was a lonely glass of wine late at night
there was a spectacle in the bottle
we were rosewood midnight because we could
sometimes I had a meaning that was hard to pinpoint
it was juxtaposed with everything I ever thought this could be

31

you were someone I hadn’t met in a while
i was used to being me
neither of had tried too hard for anyone in a long time
i made the effort of complimenting your dress
you said my bear looked wooly
i understood and this was our night
neither of us had been out with someone in a while
both of us forgot how to behave
so we were just ourselves

32

so many times it has happened and come to this
we’ve rehearsed this so many times
i think this time it’s real
i think this is the time they put us into perpetual motion
this is the real truth we’re getting now
this is what we’ve rehearsed for
all the ramifications all the juxtapositions
all of it in this momentous reality where we are the astronauts
nothing worked out for me so I fall back writing poetry
i have nothing no one needs me I put myself out there nothing
so I write poetry i’ve been writing poetry but no one sees my poetry
but this is real

33

because we fluttered by like a butterfly
tough guy act like lullaby
someday tracks are running by
cool guy glance is way too fly
jack of all trades I know this guy
can you hear the trance way too high

34

flashlight for a night light
craft work for a night shirt
laid back we take a cross twerk
open it up that’s a loss dirt
we are the people that get merked

35

he was an athlete that chose romance
and had glee in his stride
until the day he almost died
and sort of did
fixed on imposition
he crafts cornucopias of splendor
each an echelon higher than the static dimension x
we flex our rambunctious esoterism common cause
rowdy dogs flipping off the hog for a moment of frog
flip flippidty jibbit sanskrit writtence
we are smitten with juniper

36

it was a poem I wrote this one time
just a little jaunt that had me smitten
i had written something decent
but a glitch in the computer had me heated
these almost broken machines
break sometimes

37

i think to myself this isn’t the real world
i have dreams of school days in design school
it’s not just this world that I live in
there’s also the dream world
It’s always lit the same way
Forgettable it leaves imprints of it’s reality
Dreams have a way of being real for a couple minutes
then back to the realist world

38

this ain the realist world
moments staring at it like give me a break
people in favor of warfare
with no change to spare
get the fuck out of here no one wants a homeless problem
no one real
no one real wants the story we see in the media
no one real
no one real wants to bomb Iran no one real
not really Iran doesn’t really want a nuke
and America doesn’t really want to go to war
and this ain real it’s a story line we’re fed
in the matrix to keep us from paying attention to the matrix
you can fake shit
but you can’t tell me real people are in favor of the news

39

it was kismet that we kissed in my mind
and I tried to find a way past the lines
I had you on my mind and we kissed one time
and a dry run rehearsal had me turning circles
i didn’t want to kiss you at 45 i’d rather rub your feet
and massage your back and I know kiss you
and massage your breasts and get a lap dance
and I know kiss you I know kiss you
I get all this and you get a kiss tonight

40

genuine deceit
from a black creep
best friend neat
now he’s out of reach

41

somedays it’s that day

lately it’s been yesterday
we’ll set a date and dance until late

42

everything bagels
everything pizza
everything hamburger
everything burito

43

i stayed up late and watched it go down
I had tendrils in my mantelpiece that sliced me
there was a lions den in my living room
you could find me Rollin on dubbs sippin bubbs
mean Muggs and shoulder shruggs
all because i’m candy painted
your lane is divisive sainted
calculated we navigated the wrong sentence
what more you want from me I’m a grown santa

44

apple’s sauce is based in years of training
claiming seance we bring back the dead
if not to guarantee our own rebirth
if not us then them we begin again
death is nothing but a nothing that’s been nothing
for nothing is nothing like death

45

serenade a singer and get judged just the same
enter into oblivion and smoke that fragrant jane
ever present permanence places us in our destiny
you’re hard to embrace let me speak my epiphany

46

we had the internet between us
it was other sides of the world
we bestowed fortune upon one another
our lifestyles marinated perfectly together in time
you could save a dollar if you let her coach you awhile
because it was happenstance that either of us knew each other
there was a daring somber embrace we have yet to share
somehow this was going to be our beautiful

47

you never know who’s writing you
human pain might be tragedy on the stix
the worst ball of poverty
might be writing you an email
you did good in this life
can you spare a moment for someone that didn’t?

48

dime store damsel why you on my block
i was looking for some trouble
and here you are tonight
i’m too poor to date you
it’s an economic thing
you’re fine
it’s about us and money really
and the bill is too high

49

man created god
god did not create man
this is the news in religion
which is only a new conversation
to a new generation
it’s an old conversation
its really old
but its interesting to new people
they know how to sell the bible
and they can spot an academic from a mile away
we’re not welcome in church
if they know you know the truth
you have to leave

50

deprogram the light
let nature duplicate itself
cascade down tantalizing fits
broker a deal with a peace treaty author
manifest enlightenment daily
take advantage of your finances
and watch television when you get the chance
today the show is on and watch or be watched

51

scrolled some more today
never ending never releasing
infinite scrolls

53

my father belongs to the earth now
he stood tangent most his life
now he lays parallel
orbiting as a stone temple pilot
he has his gravestone
that is his memory
shall we not forget his location
tempered with memories
we knew our father

54

because it was something you never thought of
you were blind to the reality you faced
you had star dust in your pockets
and a smile on your face
you were chewing on some candy
with a soda pop in your hand
you just didn’t see it
so you were happy a sum total grand

55

you’re someone to yourself
until you become someone to someone else
then you’re someone

and someone needs to know you
because someone is your friend

57

i wrote a poem about a poem
and that poem was a poem

58

epic electric sanskrit sentences
hell bent elephants with a move to be resonant
skeletons everywhere but not a drop of blood beware
samual Perkins developed northwest passages
you can smell the heartache I tune into with my soul
aging memories stick us in youth where we belong
here we are in the new day the true day
and our writing plays us anyways
you might not know how this goes
but you’ll be alright in the next episode

59

he is chosen to lead the internet
he was the one with the keyboard
he rocked the desktop
he had the mouse
he replaced his keyboard when it got tired
he pressed for a new computer after one got broken
he finessed the language so that he had a website
he was the webmaster

60

red is our fashion
it’s something we do at the voting booth
we choose red each decision
furthering our political aims
each rolling armada of pico
exchanged destinies for republican ones
the manner is transparent
we’re doing this everyday
each day we do this is another day
and the television gives us our highlights
