you have to develop your writing regimen don’t go from zero to novel start off for a year just writing poetry just write poems develop the need to write develop your writing habit by starting off writing poems … and then make social media posts practice writing letters as small essays … and then write short stories just you have to have it in your system to write you have to have it so that you wake up you sit down to write you go about your day you just have to write you have to sit down and you have to write and then now that i think about it before any of that you need to practice developing your typing skills typing skills alone determine if you’re going to write a book if you’re not of a project based lifestyle you’ll have a hard time picking up writing to the extent that you’ll write a novel like you have to look at the screen when you type so that you can catch your typing errors and so that you can read along as you type … i write it’s easy for me but i put in 20 years into the writing field stick to what you are good at and if it’s writing write but if it’s not probably the best thing you could do realistically to start writing a novel something you could sell would be to write people on facebook or twitter buy twitter $8 a month and treat so much of twitter and facebook as writing prompts that you can slide into an leave a comment and of course read read read read read read read read read read read online but especially read books read the bible first if you don’t know where to start with your reading start with the bible the NIV BIBLE it’s the mot thoroughly written best written most qualitatively written document in english history theres nothing like it read the bible like you’re learning how to write read the bible like that but when you’re writing you want to get to the point where you have your own voice in the advanced stages of this if you can start off staring at your hands clearing up typos after the fact if you can stare at your hands again and finger peck out sentences you are more than welcome to but make certain you have proper form make certain you have your wrists down to the table and your fingers on the home keys and practice practice getting good at typing or else writing will always be more difficult than it should be for you and get ahold of a wordpress journal and journal keep track of your writing and your successes and remember the keyboard is the easiest way to communicate just like the guitar is the easiest way to play music you have to learn the tool but it is quite easy once you get the muscle memory in your hands and you can just slide over the keys with ease and have your delete key down and have it subconscious the entire process you can do it but it’s a steep learning curve just like carlos santana thinks playing the guitar is easy i think typing is easy and you have some growing to do if you want a similar story
when you write your novel start off with an outline i forgot this part in the previous comment but start off with an outline and then treat each outline point like a writing prompt and if you supersede a point keep going morph your outline to your writing but its important to write about 500 words at a time when you’re writing your novel three times a week or everyday if you can but i wouldn’t recommend it or you’ll get burnt out but i’ve written two novels and i use an outline for both i typically write in social media i’m typically doing something like this but widen your imagination with your writing and take pleasure in quirky original movements within your story find a way to capture your imagination and organize your thoughts this is the oldest art form communication and it’s a question of how would you do it? you can throw all this aside and take refuge in your way and you can sit at your keyboard and find your way of doing it it might be like scrap booking i don’t know i stick to the outline method right now i am working on a science fiction novel and i just got started and i’m starting off working out the story engine physics which is how this time travel is going to work i have it figured out that you can create a portal in space that is connected to itself through time and the future can always get to the pasts time period but not the other way around to add dynamic tension to this story and i was going to have an armada draw upon earth in the future and travel to the past so that all of the futures technology can make it’s way to the past but there’s no passengers on board just bricks of technology are going to make their way to the past and think of it like deriving an equation consider doing novel writing like writing physics equations you keep deriving the next element you keep making it make sense you keep doing that and then you upload it to kdp.com and buy advertising on kdp to promote your book and make your sales write like you know you’ll be published guarantee because that’s true and take advantage of that consider there are 6,000 universities in the USA and you just need to contact the right departments and direct them to your sales page so that you can write up the curriculum for a KDP lesson in class that adds your book to the reading list you can be creative corporations are the other one ask a corporate partner to promote your book in a company wide email as a service to the community those are the two tools i’m going to use when i get around to shilling my books the other thing you can do is go to all that trouble upload it to kdp.com and then just get started on your next project don’t even worry about publishing just know that you are
